All good ideas, Ryan... I'd love to see your take on those.

You really captured Norman's insanity in this design. Well done, sir!

I had a client last year that wanted several Coco patterns, including one of Mama Coco. I don't want to step on any toes here, so I won't post the mockup. Lets just say, it looked really good, but was not an easy carve. I'm sure Ryan could make a great version of Mama Coco that would be in his style...

Everyone can learn something new, no matter how experienced they have become. I personally love to see people challenging themselves and making themselves better, regardless of what level they are on, or where they have come from. On the flip side, it's always sad to see individuals who think they a...

WOW! Home run, Ryan. This is the best of the patch so far in '12, IMO. Also, I started a Tarman of my own last season, it was going to be my extreme design for '11, but I never finished it. Keep up the good work!

Yes, I'm good to go for 2010.

BUT I think we are all anxiously awaiting someone else to relaunch... hint hint, Zombie Man!

Looking good, St0ney. Thanks for the support as usual. Awesome little cardholders.

The Moon Man is killer.

Not trying to step on Ryan's toes here... but I think I can help. If you are looking for a cheap detail saw, check out the How To section over at my site. It's virtually the only tool I use anymore. And to be honest, I got that tip from another carver. Should be just the thing for Ryan's awesome Pin...

Hey, a little bit of a departure from your "typical ZP stye," Ryan, but I must admit that I like it. Pushing the envelope... keep it up!

You bet I will! I suppose I'll be putting a "Halloweeny" slant on pretty much every board that I can get away with. I'll also try to get progressively scarier until store leadership tells me I went too far! If you looked at the photo set I posted, you will see a cute bunny drawing... sigh. I guess t...

So my real job has its ups and downs. Coming into Halloween is, of course, one of the ups. I'm an in-store artist/sign printer/graphic designer for Whole Foods Market. Here is a pic of one of my chalkboards... you may recognize where I got the inspiration!

I've never used the Gutter, so I can't really give an accurate comparison. But I would imagine a hand tool like that loop would give you a better 'feel' of what's happening than a power tool.

I really like the tools that come with a basic clay modeling kit. You will get a large clay loop, which I think is by far the best tool for scraping away the insides of a pumpkin. A few small clay loops, which work great for scraping away the small remaining strings/clingons after carving a design. ...

I agree. My neighbor hosts the Halloween party, and he says the same thing, no costume, no entry. This year he even has laid down he law that it has to be a 1980's theme.

I'm thinking the Dread Pirate Roberts.
