Re: Is Halloween a Woman's Holiday?

Thanks Ryan. I will have to keep an eye on who shows up to my display and take a mental note of the ratio and try to gauge people's responses towards certain patterns. I can make adjustments next year. This year, I've just been carving mainly for myself.

Is Halloween a Woman's Holiday?

I'm just sort of curious about ZP's site demographics and which patterns have been the all-time most downloaded. Perhaps a top 5? What made me curious was me following my own FB page demographics. Out of the total 54 likes on my pages (it's my first year, I'm working on it!), only about 10 are men. ...

It's only been 3 years, so you would think I could remember. But that was several beers ago. I think the first pattern I printed was Root of All Evil or Grave n Raven. I've probably carved RoAE about 6 times. It just represents Halloween for me. I've carved it for neighbors. I finally carved it into...

I wish there was a way to access patterns that have been retired. Perhaps through a VIP membership? As a relatively new member, a year or two ago I really wanted to carve the original sugar skull pattern. But it was replaced with the new one. But I understand that would require extra work and resour...

Thanks Amanda. I forgot to say that I loved the wrapping and presentation of the box...and digging around and finding spiders placed throughout the box. It was just as fun opening the box as it was receiving the gifts.

Happy Halloween Amanda!

An unexpected gift arrived today from Amanda! She wrote a very nice letter and treated me and my family to an assortment of goodies. Thanks for thinking of the kids! It would be difficult to open a package without something for them to munch on or play with. Two PEZ dispensers so the kids don't figh...

I'm so glad you liked them. I had a really difficult time deciding what to get you. I know you're into witches, but I just could not pass up the candle holder. It was really fun shopping for you.

Happy Halloween!

Brook

I got my box out too. My partner should receive it any day now.

In the past, I would take a longish pattern and cut it into 3 pieces. Then glue to the pumpkin so each piece matches the shape of the pumpkin. You are stretching the pattern by cutting it up and replacing it on the pumpkin.

Your plants look very healthy. The pumpkins turned out great. This was my first year, and I got small pumpkins and I ended up getting leaf fungus. Next year will be better though.

Pumpkin Pro Kits and Patterns

It seems there's a new brand of pumpkin carving kit in the grocery stores this year. They are called Pumpkin PRO. They are a ripoff of Pumpkin Masters. I found them in Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Big Lots. The tools appear to be the same (cheap) quality as Pumpkin Masters. I really don't care about the...

Hint: glue the pattern directly to the pumpkin using white glue and carve straight through the pattern. Wash off the rest of the pattern. Easy peasy.

What an amazing house with amazing pumpkins! I'm a clutz when it comes to choosing Halloween decorations other than pumpkins. Please marry me! Thanks so much! I could marry you - but you have to come to me, help me unpack and repack all my Halloween stuff each year, and kick out my hairy, beer swil...
