You can never go wrong with a Hammer Horror movie. They scared me as a kid and now thanks to DVD they're scaring my kids. I love Halloween. 
I love the Hammer films as well! I'm most familiar with the Frankenstein and Dracula films, but I think I've seen a few others as well.
For anyone who likes the style of Tim Burton's film Sleepy Hollow, definitely look up Hammer. I suggest checking out Horror of Dracula at the very least.
