Happy National Frankenstein Day, celebrating the birthday of author Mary Shelley, born August 30, 1797. Her novel "Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus" was published in 1818, and led to iconic film adaptations like "Frankenstein" in 1931 and "Bride of Frankenstein" in 1935.

Tonight would be a good time to read the book, watch the films, or carve a pumpkin. It's a perfect night for mystery and horror. The air itself is filled with monsters.
